DESCRIPTION:A family-run play café designed to provide a quality experience for the whole family – with modern\, stimulating and challenging play for children aged 0-5 years as well as a clean and comfortable café area for adults serving high quality coffee and cakes. \nThere are three play sessions available to book on weekdays and two on a Saturday morning. Each session allows 90 minutes for families to enjoy the play facilities as well as the food and drink on offer\, while the 30 minutes in between will give staff the opportunity to clean and tidy the facilities to ensure that we provide the best possible customer experience. \nThe maximum capacity for each slot is 25 children. They encourage you to book online as places for each session fill up fast. If you arrive without a booking you can pay to enter at the front desk\, but only if there are spaces available for that session. Jessica will be visiting for a storytime with crafts and music on Saturday 10th October which is Bookshop Day. \nAbout the event: Tumble into a world of music and magic with the illustrator of the bestselling The Story Orchestra series! Jessica Courtney-Tickle will read from the latest book in the series: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland\, before teaching kids how to draw the mischievous rabbit in a waistcoat\, the Queen of Hearts and Alice herself from Lewis Carroll’s classic. Pick up a musical instrument and see if you can recreate the music from the story! \nAbout the illustrator: Jessica Courtney-Tickle is an illustrator who graduated from Kingston University in July 2014. Her absolute favourite thing to draw or paint is nature\, finding a focus on foliage of any kind as well as children’s stories about adventure and exploration. She also has a penchant for drawing theatre from music makers to dancers and even singing animals. Jessica is most influenced by vintage picture books\, travel posters and folk art as well as numerous painters and printmakers. \nAbout Bookshop Day: Bookshop Day is an annual\, one day celebration of all high street bookshops in Booksellers Association membership. Approximately 1000 UK retailers\, both independents and branches of chain bookshops\, are registered to participate. Bookshop Day aims to remind customers of the value of their local bookshops and that they are the perfect places to kick-start their Christmas gift-buying – to “choose bookshops”. \nChildren aged 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
