Author Event: Brown Bear Wood: Rachel Piercey (4-11yrs) – The Alligator’s Mouth, Richmond
Local poet Rachel Piercey will be back at the shop for another wonderful event! Rachel is the author of the incredibly popular Brown Bear Wood series and will be visiting to celebrate the latest in the series, Here We Go Round the Woodland Year, on Saturday 17th October.
About the event: Join author Rachel Piercey for a morning of nature-themed imaginative fun, inspired by the enchanted world of Brown Bear Wood. There will be interactive readings, creative activities, and a chance to write and perform your own new poem! PLEASE NOTE: This event will consist of two sessions, aimed at different age groups. Please see further details below and book your timeslot accordingly.
10:00-10:50 – This event will be an interactive session with a creative activity (for younger readers, ideal ages 4-7).
11:00-12:00 – This event will involve writing your own poem with the optional opportunity to read/perform your work to the group (for older readers, ideal ages 8-11).
About the author/illustrator: Rachel Piercey is a London-based poet, editor and tutor. Rachel’s poems for adults have been published in various magazines and anthologies, including The Rialto, Magma, and The Poetry Review. Rachel is also the author of the Brown Bear Wood series for children, published by Magic Cat and illustrated by Freya Hartas. These search-and-find poetry and nature books include a range of beautiful hardbacks, as well as various board books, activities, and a poetry collection. The Brown Bear Wood series has been translated into twenty-seven different languages.
Children aged 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All tickets cover 1 child with accompanying adult(s).
This event is ideal for ages 4-11 (please select your timeslot accordingly).
Tickets are £6, of which £3 is redeemable against Here We Go Round the Woodland Year (recommended for ages 4-7) OR Wisdom of the Woods (recommended for ages 8-11) on the day of the event. Please note that Rachel’s other books will be available to purchase in addition on the day if you wish.
