Welcome To Family Hub
Hello and welcome – we’re glad you found us! We launched Family Hub in the autumn of 2020, and we hope that mums, dads, kids and carers in Richmond, Twickenham and surrounding areas enjoy using the site as much as we enjoy putting it together! We are the amalgamation of three pre-existing sites – Twick Mums, Barnes Mums and Richmond Mums – and we hope that having the whole of Richmond Borough covered in one place is easier and more useful when looking for information and inspiration for family life.
On the site you’ll find sections on Food & Drink, Shopping, Education, Activities, Services, and Health & Fitness. These sections are full of posts on some of the best that is on offer in the area. We will be adding new content all the time, so make sure you keep checking back to browse the latest features. You’ll also find a ‘Comments’ section at the bottom of all our posts, so please feel free to add your own views and experiences relating to what we’re writing about – we always love to receive your feedback.
NB Please note that the vast majority of these posts have been written with ‘normal’ times in mind – bear in mind that there may currently be certain changes and restrictions in place, and the companies / venues in question should be contacted direct for the latest information.
If you are looking for something specific, for example toddler activities, the site uses a tags system. You’ll find our ‘Tag cloud’ towards to top of every page (or it might be towards the bottom of the page if you’re on a mobile) and then click the tag that best matches what you’re looking for.
The What’s On section contains a daily calendar of what’s going on in the area. Whilst we could never claim to list absolutely everything, what you’ll find are the best of the events, activities and goings-on that we think are of most interest to families in the local area. And when we say local we mean local – we concentrate on things going on in Richmond Borough, plus a few things a little further afield that we think may be of interest.
We also have a newsletter that you can sign up to via this link – we email one or twice a month at the most and promise not to bombard you! And you can also join us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to hear our latest news.

PS People sometimes ask us if businesses pay to be featured on the site. Although the site is very much a labour of love, we do need to make ends meet so we charge for certain advertorials and advertising. However, a lot of the content is unfunded – for example our classes and holiday guides – and all content is curated and edited at Family Hub to ensure we’re only giving you information that we feel relevant and interesting to our family audience.
Our Wider Community
We used to be part of a wider community of franchises under the umbrella of Great British Mums, and even though we’re now all independent we still have great connections with our old sister sites – all specialists in what there is to do for families in their region.
