Reading Fairy LogoReading Fairy classes have been created by early reading experts to lay the foundation for children to learn to read and love books for life. They’re suitable for all babies, toddlers and pre-school children, and the good news is they’re now available in Twickenham, St Margarets, Whitton and Isleworth.

Reading FairyReading Fairy believes in learning through play, and the classes include fun phonics and word games, sensory and performance storytelling, interactive songs and nursery rhymes, speaking and listening activities, picture book time and much more! Props, puppets, bubbles, and musical instruments help engage the children, and the classes also use a range of loveable characters – as well as Reading Fairy herself, children will meet Music Mouse, Phonic Fox, Chat Cat and Book Bear. Each class lasts 40 minutes and ends with a snuggle up with Book Bear while he shares a story.

The programme is divided into four stages which have been written using the latest research and best early years practice:

Stage 1: Books Babies (from 12 months)
    • Encourages early language and literacy skills using nursery rhymes, action songs, and sensory stories
    • Introduces animals that represent each letter of the alphabet
Stage 2: Toddler Tales (from 18 months)
    • Introduces a more active environment and focus on speaking and listening to new words
    • Continues with nursery rhymes, action songs, sensory stories, and the letters of the alphabet
Stage 3: Story Stars (from 24 months)
    • Explores letters and sounds for early reading, with lots of singing and dancing to the letter sound song, and finding objects beginning with that sound
    • Games to grow your child’s vocabulary and listening skills, and sensory stories using actions, instruments, props and puppets
Stage 4: Reading Recruits (for 3-5 years)
    • The final stage which when completed means your child will be ready for learning to read at school

Reading FairyKayleigh was inspired by Reading Fairy classes and has recently introduced them to the area. She has been part of the Wow World Group since 2016 when she started running Baby Sensory classes, and launched Reading Fairy in January 2020. Both Kayleigh and her children love books and stories, and she loves sharing the magic of Reading Fairy with toddlers and pre-schoolers.
