Barracudas Holiday Camps
Barracudas offers summer and Easter activity day camps across the country for children aged 4½ to 14 years old. They’ve been running activity day camps for 25 years, and have a fantastic, qualified and experienced team who make sure that the children have a brilliant time. Barracudas promises that its staff will be 100% raring to go, and will always give every child such an amazing experience that they can’t wait to come back! The Barracudas camps in Twickenham are extremely popular with local families and fills to capacity, so early booking is recommended.
At Barracudas, children enjoy multi-activity day camps with a wide range of activities to suit all ages and interests. They can take part in traditional sports like football and basketball, new sports like Futsal and Kinball, specialist sports like fencing and archery, and a whole host of non-sports sessions including arts and crafts. The camps offer a great opportunity for children to try out new things in a safe environment, surrounded by supportive and experienced staff. In Twickenham, there are two venues – St Catherine’s and Waldegrave – and at St Catherine’s they also makes use of the onsite indoor swimming pool, which is a firm favourite with the children!
If you want a little more from the sessions, Barracudas offers ‘Skills Builder’ courses as part of the camps, including Motor Mania, Swim School, Lab Rats and Upstage. They also run regular ‘Theme Days’, for example Crazy Day, Circus, Olympics, and Pirate Day, where the kids can attend in fancy dress and take part in themed activities.
The Barracudas camps in Twickenham run from 8.30am to 5.30pm (with the option to extend from 8.00am to 6.00pm), and operate with high staff to child ratios of 1:8 to 1:14 depending on age. The St Catherine’s camps were rated as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted during 2015, so you can have total confidence that your children are in good hands and also having a whole load of fun! In Ofsted’s words:
“Children are enthusiastic and very keen to start their day at the camp. Highly skilled and knowledgeable staff greet them warmly and as a result children settle quickly and engage in a wide range of high quality activities.”
