Jilly Cowdry Photography

Jilly Cowdry is a local photographer specialising in stylish and imaginative family photography that is natural and full of light. At the heart of her approach is the desire to capture emotions and connections, creating memorable visual stories that families can treasure for years to come. She also puts customer service at the core of everything that she does, ensuring a thoroughly enjoyable process from initial contact to choosing the final shots.

Jilly came to photography almost by accident. After many years working in luxury hotel guest relations and later HR, she settled in London and started a family. Some years later the family decided to spend a year in the South of France, which is where Jilly caught the photography bug and started her travel blog. On her return, Jilly formally studied photography before starting her family photography business in 2018. Over the last few years it has brought her great joy to see people treasure the photographs she has taken.

There are three broad categories to Jilly’s family photography – babies, children and families. She loves connecting with families to document these precious times, and describes her style as fresh, simplistic and dreamy. Jilly is based in Twickenham and photographs in the local area as well as further afield, with favourite locations including Bushy Park, Richmond Park and Petersham riverside.

Babies
These natural and unique moments are often emotional and profound. Pregnancy and baby photography is handled in a caring and gentle manner creating a calm and relaxed session.

Children
Jilly loves to photograph children! There is a raw emotion that is so authentic and natural. Outdoors is perfectly suited for these shots and capturing the essence of who they are.

Families
A family shoot is a wonderful way to document all of you together, whether at home or in a beautiful outdoor setting.  Jilly tries to make the experience as relaxed as possible.

A photoshoot with Jilly will generally last around a couple of hours, but the most important thing is for everyone to go away happy and confident that there will be lots of lovely shots, so there is no fixed time limit. A midweek shoot costs a bit less than weekends/holidays, and then there are various options in terms of what you choose as your final product. You will meet a few weeks after the shoot to review your images, which will generally include 30-40 fully edited images from which to choose. Jilly’s most popular option is a package including all your digital files and two beautiful 14×10 mounted prints. She can also help if you’re looking for wall art options, and can recommend a selection of experts in this area.
