Netstars Netball
Netstars offers fun netball coaching for children from the age of six years, to help them get fit, make friends and learn new skills whatever their age or ability – having a lot of laughs along the way! Classes are available in Barnes, Richmond, Twickenham and Battersea.
Netball is the fastest growing sport in the UK, and it’s easy to see why. It is a game of speed and skill, and is a great way to stay fit and healthy. It uses all the muscle groups and involves a lot of running around! Playing team sports also has lots of additional benefits, such as boosting self-esteem, aiding sleep, enhancing problem-solving skills, and increasing concentration. Sounds good to us!
Netstars runs three programmes depending on age:
Netstars
Netstars classes are for children aged 6-12yrs. Netstars is an exciting, action-packed programme of skills, drills and matches, and is sure to develop a lifelong love of netball. Each class is a mixture of fun activities and an actual game, and children are mixed up throughout the class so they can make new friends as well as play with existing friends.- The programme is split into two age groups. ‘Gear Up’ classes are aimed at children aged 6-9yrs who are new to netball or have some experience. Classes focus on basic skills so the children can play games with assurance and ability. ‘Aim Higher’ classes are for children aged 9-12yrs with good experience of playing netball. Classes re-emphasise basic skills whilst building on tactics and more advanced techniques to improve competitive matchplay and confidence.
NetsAcademy
- The next step up is NetsAcademy for children aged 11-14yrs. These classes involve 90 minutes of intensive fitness training, skills and drills plus competitive matches in the local leagues. When they graduate from NetsAcademy, children will be ready to take that next step whatever that may be… playing at school, for the county or maybe even beyond!
Netbelles
- Netbelles is cardio netball for the grown-ups! The average netball game burns 450 calories, tones every muscle, and gives you a great aerobic and core workout. Whether you’re a first-timer or an experienced netballer, Netstars will help you reach your full potential with a challenging mixture of fast-paced skills & drills and lively matches.

Netstars uses venues with indoor facilities, so when the weather’s bad or during the winter months the children (and grown-ups!) are happy. Children’s classes take place on Saturdays at St Osmund’s Primary School in Barnes, at Christ’s School in Richmond, at St Mary’s University in Twickenham, and at St John Bosco College in Battersea. Netbelles classes take place on Tuesday evenings in Richmond. They also regularly run holiday camps at Barn Elms Sports Centre in Barnes.
