Richmond’s gymnasts bring home 4 Golds at the European Acrobatic Championships!

Richmond’s gymnasts enjoyed a spectacular Acrobatic European Championships in Bulgaria representing Great Britain and bringing home four gold medals.
The 2023 Junior European Champions are RGA’s Junior Men’s Group, Louis Alexander (18), Freddie Turner (19), Rex Booth (18) and Gethin Davies (13), bringing home an unheard of three gold medals. Excelling in every routine, the group performed with flair and personality as well as technical precision.
In a tough Senior competition, RGA’s Women’s Group Michaela Cook (25), Amber Harvey (22) and Imogen Wainman (15) placed a fantastic 5th in Europe. With beautiful routines, they sparkled on the competition floor. RGA’s experienced Mixed Pair, Toby Cooper-Driver (16) and Anisa Arumugam (14) looked amazing on floor but also faced a challenging competition, placing 11th.
In the 12-18 Age Group Championships, the new Champions are RGA’s Men’s Group, Christoph Tilroe (16), Jackson Birch (17), Alexander Lofnes (16), and Samuel Lewis (12). They also come home with Gold, and a huge following from their crowd-pleasing Star Wars themed routine. While the Women’s Group of Chloe Bartholomew (17), Charlotte Dawson (17) and Leela Were-Ramini (13) performed stunning routines placing 7th, only missing out on the finals due to the ‘one country per final’ rule.
Richmond’s Head of Acrobatics, Melanie Sanders said:
“Our gymnasts at the European Championships have surpassed all expectations this year. Their dedication and hard work have paid off, and their performances have been nothing short of exceptional. Winning triple gold in the Junior Men’s Group is the cherry on top of an already incredible achievement. We are immensely proud of them all.”
