Root To Rise Yoga & Meditation

Root To Rise offers a selection of yoga and meditation classes, which are available as small group or private classes, both online and in-person. These are ideal for mums who would like to get back into yoga, or to give yoga a go and discover its many benefits.

Root To Rise Yoga & MeditationYoga is a wonderful form of exercise for new mums. Not only does it build strength and tone all the muscles of the body, including the core area, but the flowing combination of breath and movement is extremely effective at calming the nervous system. The result is an exercise class that leaves you feeling strong, energised and relaxed at the same time.

Root To Rise Yoga & MeditationEmma of Root To Rise runs early morning, daytime and evening classes throughout the week. Her varied timetable of online classes gives a fantastic choice of class type and time, allowing mums to fit in some ‘me’ time whenever routines allow. Practising online from home also means that there is no worry about disturbing the class if your little one wakes up or joins you in the room, and you could even make it a family affair and get them involved too! In-person small group classes are also offered in Barnes, and private classes can be arranged in the wider area in the comfort of your own home.

Emma is offering all Family Hub readers a 20% discount on their first class! Just use the code FAMHUB20 when booking online.

Root To Rise Yoga & MeditationEmma’s beginner’s classes and beginner’s workshop series (running both in-person in Barnes and online), offer a supportive, friendly and safe environment in which to start your yoga journey or remind yourself of the basics. Her Slow Flow classes provide a restful and soothing combination of breath and movement, to help focus your mind and connect with your body. Her Vinyasa and Power Flow classes are more dynamic and strong, but keep the elements of breath, mindful movement and single-pointed focus at their heart. Pregnancy yoga classes will begin in March 2022 (please get in touch if you would like to be kept updated on details of these).

Emma also offers the extremely relaxing practice of Yin Yoga; a slow moving, deeply restful class in which poses are held for several minutes at a time. The intention is to relax muscles so that joints and ligaments can be slowly strengthened and stretched. All levels, including beginners, are welcome to join.

She also teaches the restful practice of Yoga Nidra. This is a form of guided meditation, practiced in a position of stillness (lying or seated) which takes you into the state between wakefulness and sleep. The practice is said to be just as restorative as deep sleep, and can lead to a calmer, clearer mind, increased focus and emotional awareness, and reduced stress.
