Easter Family Activities & Events 2026
Hooray, it’s nearly the holidays again! With Easter just around the corner, we’ve pulled together a listing of the goings-on in the Richmond and surrounding areas that families can enjoy together. We’re adding more and more as and when things are announced, so do keep checking back. For camps and workshops that children can enjoy on their own, please visit our Easter Camps & Workshops guide!
We’ve also pulled together a selection of events that are going on further afield. It’s a slightly random selection, but based on recommendations from other local mums and dads – so if you know of a little gem outside the area, then please do let us know about it and we can add it in.

Richmond Borough & Nearby
3rd – 6th April: Easter Trail at Chiswick House.
- The Easter Bunny’s lost some eggs in the gardens! Hop, skip, and jump through the gardens to find the missing eggs, solve riddles, and crack the secret code to receive your very own chocolatey prize. Pick up a trail card near the cafe, and use the map inside to find the eggs around the gardens. Beside each egg is a short riddle for you to solve! Once you’ve found all of the eggs and have cracked the riddled code, go back to the team who will stamp your certificate and give you a tasty chocolate prize. There’s no time-limit so don’t rush; they want you to enjoy the gardens along the way! Normal admission applies plus £3.50/trail.
28th March – 6th April: Easter Egg Hunt at Ham House.
- Make your way along a trail inspired by the British Civil Wars and enjoy activities for the whole family, exploring the beautiful gardens around Ham House. Trail includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and chocolate egg. Normal admission applies plus £3.50/trail.
1st – 6th April: Funfair on Hampton Court Green.
- This superb festival of fun has been open on Hampton Court Green, opposite the beautiful and historic Palace, for over 170 years. Lots of rides for the whole family to enjoy! 10 ride tokens cost £10.00 (discounts available if you pre-book online), and no. of tokens required will vary per ride. Rides are half price on the 1st & 2nd April.
21st March – 12th April: Easter Gold Lindt Bunny Hunt at Hampton Court Palace.
- Embark on the ultimate family Easter hunt. Explore the iconic gardens and discover the remarkable individuals who left their mark on Henry VIII’s home. Roam through lush gardens, keeping your eyes peeled for elusive Lindt Gold Bunny statues peeking out from colourful daffodils or early buds from the Tulip Festival. Follow the trail and match the names of influential characters to the distinctive red ribbons adorning every adorable Lindt Gold Bunny statue. Once you’ve found all the statue, your quest will be rewarded with a delicious miniature Lindt Gold Bunny 10g chocolate treat. Don’t miss also exploring the entire palace, 60 acres of gardens, the legendary Maze, and the popular Magic Garden playground. Normal admission applies.
Hampton Kempton Waterworks Railway
4th & 5th April: Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza Weekend at the Hampton Kempton Waterworks Railway.
- Join a fun-filled family day out and hop aboard the Easter Bunny Train. Follow the Easter Egg Hunt competition and if they spot all the trail cards, children will receive a free egg. Enjoy FREE rides on the new miniature sit-on train – great fun for the little ones. Take your Easter picnic as there is a lovely play area with picnic tables, and the community log cabin is open. Snacks and drinks are also available, and free parking. A great family day out! Advance booking necessary. Tickets £3.50/child or £5.50/adult (under 3yrs free).
- No special half-term events listed at time of writing, but Hounslow Urban Farm is always a treat to visit with the little ones. Stroll around the pens with goats, pigs, donkeys, llamas, peacocks and owls, and you can even feed some of the animals. There are also animal encounters throughout the day, where you can meet and handle small mammals, reptiles and more. They usually put on some special activities during school holidays too. You can buy tickets at the farm or online.
28th March – 12th April: Octonauts Above & Beyond at Kew Gardens.
- This Easter, join the Octonauts on an exciting outdoor mission at Kew Gardens. Some honeybees have lost their home, and it’s up to the Octonauts, I.e. young visitors to help. Through a series of finding, learning and making installations, children will search for the bees, build them a new hive, and help get them there safely. Perfect for children aged 3-6yrs and their families, this interactive trail invites young explorers to complete fun challenges, discover amazing facts, and learn how to protect our planet. Enjoy a fun-filled family Easter adventure set in Kew’s beautiful landscape. Normal admission applies.
London Museum Of Water And Steam (Brentford)
28th March – 12th April: Easter Egg Hunt at the London Museum Of Water & Steam.
- The Easter Bunny has visited the Museum and left eggs for you to find! Eggs will be hidden amongst the Museum’s historic engines – can you find them all? Complete the trail to claim a special prize!Perfect for children aged 3+yrs. Enjoy even more holiday fun with Easter crafts, the March Steam Up, and the new Wildplay Garden! London Wetland Centre (Barnes)
20th March – 31st May: Gozzle at the London Wetland Centre.
- The Wetland Centre has teamed up with Macmillan Children’s Books to explore the wonderful world of wetlands with Gozzle the gosling, from Julia Donaldson and Sara Ogilvie’s freshly hatched picture book. With outdoor adventures, special activities, storytelling sessions and more, enjoy a season of firsts. Follow the interactive trail to discover what it takes for your fuzzy little friend to become a grown-up goose. From her first nibble to her first splash… right up to the day she flies away on her first migration. There are lots more firsts for you to discover along the way – whether it’s your first time pond dipping, your first time birdwatching with binoculars, or simply your first visit. From 28th March – 31st May, you can also waddle into the Vet Check station and become an amazing animal helper. Your mission: is to nurse your toy goose back to health, becoming an expert with x-rays and discovering how to handle, measure and weigh birds just like a real WWT vet. Normal admission applies.
28th March – 12th April: Easter Adventure at Osterley Park.
- This spring, a friendly bunch of animals has escaped from the Tapestry Room and are now running about in the gardens! Help out by seeing if you can catch them and return them to the beautiful tapestries. Make your way around the Formal Garden and find art and nature-inspired activities for the whole family. The trail price includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and chocolate egg. Normal admission applies plus £3.50/trail.

28th March – 12th April: Easter at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo.
- Enjoy a day packed full of animal talks, a chance to meet the adorable rare breed chicks hatched at the zoo, plus feed the pigs, rabbits and guinea pigs at special Easter holiday encounters! Enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt, Keeper talks, and fun weekend crafts, and run wild in the play areas. Easter activities to keep the whole family busy! Normal admission applies plus £1.50/trail.
28th March – 12th April: Feaster Eggstravaganza at Bockett’s Farm.
- Celebrate the joys of Spring with a memorable family day out as the lambing season kicks off! With over 500 adorable lambs expected to arrive, there’s no better time to visit. Claremont Landscape Garden (Esher)
21st March – 12th April: Easter Egg Hunt at Claremont Landscape Garden.
- Step right up for Claremont’s Great Victorian Circus Easter Trail! The circus is in town — but chaos has struck! Bunny the Showman has misplaced his all‑important show programme, and the performers are scattered across the garden getting ready for the big spectacular. He needs your help to make sure the show can go on! Enjoy outdoor adventure as you search the garden for 10 Victorian circus characters, each waiting with a fun, family‑friendly activity. 28th March – 12th April: Zoonormous Egg Hunt at London Zoo.
- Celebrate Easter with an unforgettable family adventure packed with discovery, creativity and seasonal fun. This spring, visitors are invited to explore the Zoo on a special Easter egg hunt, searching high and low for six giant Easter eggs hidden around the grounds. Each egg reveals a secret letter, encouraging curious minds to work together to uncover the code hidden throughout the Zoo. Once families have completed the Easter Egg hunt, they can head to the main lawn to claim their tasty treat, and celebrate ZSL’s incredible 200th anniversary by visiting the new Heritage Exhibition on the lawn. 1st – 6th April: Easter Egg Hunt at Morden Hall Park.
- Follow Follow a 10-point Easter trail around Morden Hall Park, packed with egg-themed games and playful challenges for the whole family. Along the route you will take part in classic activities such as egg and spoon races, croquet, bean bag toss and coconut shire, all designed to get children moving, laughing and exploring the park together. It’s a great way to enjoy the spring season, spot signs of new life and spend quality time as a family in nature. Once you have completed all the challenges, head to the finish to collect a chocolate egg as your reward. Normal admission applies (free entry) plus £3.50/trail, and the Park also connects to Dean City Farm.
Natural History Museum (South Kensington)
- The Natural History Museum needs no introdcution, but this Easter they have a number of special exhibitions taking place that could be of interest to families: including ‘Wildlife Photographer of the Year’; ‘Our Story with David Attenborough’; and ‘Visions of Nature: A mixed reality experience’. Entrance to the Museum is free but should be booked beforehand to avoid disappointment.
28th March – 12th April: Explorer Journey Sticks at Painshill Park.
- Step into the role of a real explorer this Easter. Designed for adventurous families, this hands-on outdoor experience transforms your visit into a voyage of discovery through the historic landscape. Find your explorer stick and set off along woodland trails, open meadows and lakeside paths, collecting natural treasures as you go. 21st March – 14th April: Easter Trail at Polesden Lacey.
- Join Grizwald the Griffin for ‘Grizwald’s Easter Fest’, a children’s trail with a spring fete theme and activities for all the family to enjoy. Trail includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and chocolate egg. Normal admission applies plus £3.50/trail.
Science Museum (South Kensington)
30th March – 10th April: Easter at the Science Museum.
- From a free Star Trek trail to moon mission-inspired activities, there’s fun for all the family this Easter. Eggsplore the Museum to spot the rabbit, eggs and chocolate hiding in the free galleries with a family trail; be among the first to join the Star Trek 60th Anniversary celebrations by taking the brand new Warp Trail; and of course discover all things space; enjoy an Imax experience; head to the Wonderlab interactive gallery and try Power Up, a hands-on gaming experience. 28th March – 12th April: The Easter Detectives at Wisley Gardens.
- Who framed the Easter Bunny? Become an Easter Detective! Follow clues, solve the mystery and help rescue the Easter Bunny on this interactive trail for families. Set among spring blossom and vibrant seasonal colour, it’s the perfect Easter day out for families to explore and take on a playful challenge. Just as the Easter Bunny was ready to deliver chocolate across the country, disaster struck. Every egg basket was found empty, with a cheeky carrot left behind framing the rabbit. Eight intriguing characters were spotted nearby… can you uncover who really committed the crime? Equipped with a Detective pack, follow clues hidden around the garden in this Easter detective trail, encouraging teamwork, imagination and discovery along the way.
