Little Forest Folk TwickenhamLittle Forest Folk Twickenham is a fully-outdoor nursery which has just been shortlisted for the Tes Early Years Setting of the Year Award, 2022. Children can attend from ages 2-4 years, and they learn and play outdoors all day, every day, whatever the weather! It’s a truly inspirational and unique nursery, situated in a magical outdoor site where the children’s imaginations are free to run wild. The nursery also provides an authentic child-centred environment where the children’s interests are followed ‘in the moment’, and supported by a team of amazing forest educators. All this results in an excellent nursery where exceptional learning takes place – and you can rest assured that this also follows the curriculum set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Environmental Efforts: Green Flag Award Holder:

Little Forest Folk TwickenhamThe nursery has Green Flag accreditation, so the children learn in depth about reducing waste, recycling and expanding their understanding of cultural diversity around the world. When the Green Flag assessor went to visit the nursery, she stated that the work put into the application was the best she’d ever seen!

Celebrating Diversity & Inclusivity:

The Twickenham team has attended Makaton Sign-along training, as well as Social Story training to aid their communication with children with Autism, to help make the setting inclusive to all. Children regularly explore and share cultural activities from around the world, and they can also greet each other in a range of languages, from Jambo to Konnichiwa!

Little Forest Folk TwickenhamCommunity Focussed:

Little Forest Folk Twickenham has worked hard to form a meaningful bond with its local community. Contributing to the community, learning more about it, and thinking about other people’s wellbeing is nurtured at the nursery. It recently led a food collection campaign and donated nearly two shopping trolleys’ worth of food to a food bank based in its local supermarket. The children and families also raised over £200 for Comic Relief when they hosted their very own fashion show with clothes and bags they made themselves.
